Hull punks LIFE release new single “Rare Boots” on 8th July

“Spitting barbed statements on the minutiae of modern life atop their thrashing, noisy backdrop, they pull no punches.”  DIY

Hull charmers LIFE have been making a name for themselves recently. With their previous single ‘Popular Music’ attracting heavy support from the likes of Annie Mac and Huw Stephens, as well as turning the head of indie champion Steve Lamacq, who hung with the band whilst broadcasting his 6 Music show in Hull, the four-piece are now revealing its addictive follow up.

With blood, sweat and snappy lyrics that put popular culture under the microscope, LIFE have been finding success in their recent run of self-released singles – and ‘Rare Boots’ is no different. Produced again by Grammy award-winning collaborator Ian Dowling (Bombay Bicycle Club, Wavves,) the track is a punchy, melodic slice of punk-rock that knocks you down with hollered vocals, then brings you round again with an infectious guitar riff and rolling drums.

Lead by brothers Mez & Mick, LIFE is a project fuelled by passion; a passion for music, for enterprise, and for their hometown. Their cutting take on punk-rock isn’t the product of focus groups or boardrooms, but the sound of four workers from Hull, kicking against the brain dead, the ego lead and the morally corrupt, and creating something with real heart, mind and soul.
