Halifax, Canada garage duo, Cousins are busy getting ready for their first trip to the UK in May to play The Great Escape and two shows in London. The band recently completed work on a brand new 10-song album entitled, The Halls of Wickwire, in Toronto at Candle Recording with engineer Josh Korody (Beliefs) and Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh, co-producer of the recent METZ debut.Cousins are a bare-bones garage-rock power group, comprising of guitarist/singer Aaron Mangle and drummer Leigh Dotey, together they manifest Mangle’s quirky vision of sweet n’ heavy raucous pop music in a live show that is both poetic and violent. Here is the first taste of their new album with the incendiary cut ‘What’s Your Name?’ a bold sonic step forward for the group featuring vocal interplay between Mangle and Dotey, as well as a dirty wash of distortion and mountainous drums.
The band will hit continental Europe for a few other dates post-Great Escape:
