SAVAK (Members of Obits, Holy Fuck & The Cops) announce new album ‘Beg Your Pardon’ out 9th November

SAVAK make a potent and pointed agitpop racket…” NOISEY

“Dread-fueled, post-punk angst tempered with catchy hooks.”  MAGNET

“Superior twin-guitar slash action.” MOJO

Brooklyn rock veterans SAVAK (members of Obits, Holy Fuck, The Cops) are excited to announce their third album Beg Your Pardon, to be released on November 9 via Ernest Jenning Record Co.

Album opener, “Dead Dick” is a bristling bayonet, lyrically inspired by the #metoo movement, lancing scumbag patriarchs while humorously dropping a Van Halen reference. And that’s a perfect introduction to how SAVAK operates: not afraid to be serious while not taking themselves too seriously.

Beg Your Pardon, SAVAK’s third release follows a compelling progression from their past releases (2016’s Best Of Luck In Future Endeavors and 2017’s Cut-Ups) — equally the most punk rock and sublime record in their repertoire. The new album features everything from noisy careeners and ’80s hardcore nods to slightly glammy stompers and straight-up, New Zealand-inspired, guitar-pop songs (and that’s just in the first 10 minutes of side one).

The band recorded and produced Beg Your Pardon themselves in their Gowanus practice space and then handed off the songs to Mikey Young (Royal Headache, Kelley Stoltz), Geoff Sanoff (Nada Surf, Luna), Ed Ackerman (The Jayhawks, John Wesley Harding) and Matthew Barnhart (Superchunk, METZ) to mix.

Beg Your Pardon is out November 9 via Ernest Jenning Record Co on CD, LP and digital download,
